HBP

Finished it in lesser than a day. I was, to put it simpler, dumbstruck at the thought of everything that had been revealed in this book. Inferi? This book showed so much more than what any other book showed us. Sectumsempra, a hideous jinx/curse, which had been invented by no less than the Half-Blood Prince himself, or the Horcruxes, which has part of a human's soul. It's quite astounding, really, but quite normal. The number of deaths is not much surprising, given that the Second War has already begun. Scrimgeour, the New Minister of Magic, wasn't the least bit like what I thought he'd be.

Although, in the whole, I was quite depressed with the Half-Blood Prince's ending, I found things that I am quite happy about. First of all, Harry proved to be far faithful to Dumbledore that he had ever been. Dumbledore died, yet none of Harry's loyalty diminished. Moreover, he wished to remain faithful and he wanted to pursue what Dumbledore wished him to do: find the Horcruxes, destroy them, and kill Voldemort in the process. I was immensely proud of Harry being "Dumbledore's man through and through". I salute him with all my might.

I loved the Half-Blood Prince, although at some point I was quite saddened at the thought of Hogwarts without the greatest wizard Harry has ever known...or will ever know, for that matter. Dumbledore showed Harry a lot of strength, courage, and care for the boy who was called 'the Chosen One'. I believed it was reminiscent of Star Wars.

And then, there are some conclusions I have drawn after reading the book. Although for some time I had been in denial about Sirius' death, I now accept it wholeheartedly. He was already dead, and he gave all of his property to the one he most cared about, Harry. I felt a great deep of remorse, anger, and of deep hatred towards the so-called Half-Blood Prince. He betrayed Dumbledore's trust and yet, now that I am in deep thought about it, I come to think that Dumbledore never really believed that Snape turned over a new leaf. If he had, he wouldn't have pleaded for his life in front of Snape.

I am not totally pleased with how it went, although, as the saying goes, Life goes on. Harry will continue on with his life, searching for the Horcruxes. All I can wish for is that Ron, Hermione and Ginny (and all the other important people on Harry's life) will remain in tact and alive after Harry has defeated Voldemort.

One can only hope.
